What is Google auto-suggesting?

In a quick look over last week (Aug 1st to Aug 6th 2016), here’s what Google was suggesting for each letter of the alphabet across these 11 countries (when only the first letter was typed in).

Here’s what I did - I went to the corresponding country’s google search. I then typed each letter and noted what came up first. I was signed out of google all along to make sure my personal preferences or search history did not come into play. I then color coded each result based on the category it fell into.
— e-commerce, retail, shopping
— Banking, money transfers, exchange rates etc.
— Social: Facebook, mail, LinkedIn, etc.
— Sports
— Entertainment
— Politics, government, news
— Services (maps, weather, translate)
— Travel & Hotel
— Education
— Media & Communications

Here's how the trend looks.

Now, I live in the US mid-west and I am not sure if the results that came up truly represents trending searches in that country or if my location is playing a role in the results that come up, despite my not being signed in.

Here’s Google’s support page on this topic:
